STIRLING-born entrepreneur Steven McLeod has been given the green light for the first phase of a multi-million-pound expansion of Airth Castle Hotel and Spa.
Falkirk Council has approved plans for the hotel’s award-winning spa which is to double in size and feature a range of new treatments and complimentary facilities on offer for leisure club members and hotel guests.
Steven said: “The refurbishment will continue to underpin the quality the hotel offers and continue to exceed expectations. The expansion of the spa will give us scope to attract new local members but also enable us to give back something to my existing loyal members.
“It is all part of the blueprint of the future.”
Included in the spa development will be a bar and cafe, two saunas, two steam rooms, a plunge pool, heated loungers, thermal foot spas, techno gym, a range of water treatments, therapies and 12 beauty treatment rooms.
The spa will continue to be open to members and guests during the refurbishment as the extension is in a newly built building outwith the existing facilities, so all members and clients will remain unaffected.
The hotel has already completed one floor of its internal luxury bedroom refurbishment and following on from this a further 50 bedrooms will be built, taking its stock to 175 bedrooms.
