Good fortune at the expense of many

Dear Editor – Re “Turbine Campaign is Getting Personal” (Stirling Observer, April 27), the claim to victimhood at the hands of objectors, promulgated by those whose farmland is destined to form the larger part of the site for a proposed windfarm, would call forth more sympathy if they had been less coy about the likely benefits accruing to themselves as a result of their consent.Read

A case of sour grapes?

Dear Editor – The Islamic Mosque is objecting to the proposed Waitrose Store being able to sell alcohol from its store, as the Mosque is situated within closed proximity of its site.Read

Don’t Suffer in Silence – SSAFA Can Help!

Dear Editor – Many of us in the Stirling area know of a veteran soldier, sailor or airman, but there are probably many more we rarely see who are lonely or in need of help.Read

Voters will not be fooled by Anti-Labour rant

Dear Editor – I’m constantly amazed by the apparent selective memory and ignorance of the facts of local SNP politicians. The latest offering by Scott Farmer is an anti-Labour rant and an attempt at a smear campaign over the council budget.Read

Red squirrels – perhaps not so native after all!

Dear Editor – The almost daily venomous attack by conservationists on grey squirrels for not being native to this country is dutifully followed up by the claim that red squirrels are native to Scotland.Read

Dear Editor – The Easter holidays are fast approaching and this marks the beginning of the ‘camping season’. Our area, as well as others nearby, always see a marked increase in camping activity from Easter onwards. Although most people act responsibly, a significant number behave anti-socially, leaving litter, damaging the environment and generally abusing these beautiful areas.Read
