Thousands visit Smith’s show of Da Vinci drawings

THE exhibition of work by Leonardo da Vinci at the Stirling Smith is packing the crowds in, with around 2000 people visiting in its first full week.

Ten Drawings by Leonardo da Vinci has been running at the Smith since August 9 to celebrate the 60th birthday of the Prince of Wales later this year.

Stirling is the collection’s only Scottish showing and the exhibition, which runs until November 2, is being supplemented by a series of talks at the museum from next month.

These include topics such as “The History of Imaging the Body from Leonardo to the Present”, “Leonardo Through His Drawings” and “Mechanical Birds and Renaissance Stirling”.

While the exhibition is free, the illustrated talks are priced £4 and booking for these is recommended.

There are also free guided walking tours of Kings Park and Renaissance Stirling going on this month.

These take place this Friday and the following Friday at 11am.

Places are limited so booking for these is recommended.
