Stevenson in the spotlight

OFF the Page is far from being all about authors simply talking about their latest work.

After enjoying Flights of Fancy theatre lovers can also head to the MacRobert for Robert Louis Stevenson’s “Treasure Island” (September 20) while a 140-mile French donkey trek undertaken by Stevenson himself is also the subject of discussion at the Stirling Smith (September 15).

A further light is shone on the past with Scottish Antiques Centre senior buyer Andrew Carter talking about his work and valuing items at Cambusbarron Library (September 19).

A basic creative writing workshop at Callander Library (September 17) offers tips to budding writers while those who just love to read have several opportunities to meet over coffee or wine, including a Cowane Centre book exchange (September 15) and a discussion on best-loved children’s books at Dunblane Library (September 17).

Full details, including times and costs, are available in the festival brochure or online.
