Man plunges 1000ft down mountain and gets up to read map

A CLIMBER tackling Munro, Sgurr Choinnich Morat escaped with his life after plummeting a catastrophic 1000ft down the mountain side.

Lucky Adam Potter not only survived the fall, but after being knocked unconcious, got to his feet and began reading his map to find his location.

And a rescue helicopter scrambled to search for the Glasgow man, passed him not believing someone could be standing after such a horrific fall.

Soon after discovering a trail of Adam's kit from where he had fallen, the helicopter about turned and went to the man's rescue.

Mr Potter who was climbing with a group of friends is now recovering in Glasgow's Southern General Hospital with three broken bones in his back and cuts to his face.
