Top DJs to spin decks for Eilidh’s Fund

SOME of the UK’s top dance DJs are in Stirling later this month for an event inspired by much missed local teenager Eilidh Brown.

Local DJ Alex Mullen (aka DJ Technotrance) has organised the night at citycentre club Fubar on Friday September 16, garnering support from some of his high profile friends in the industry.

As well as Alex himself, Radio Clyde’s Breakfast Show host George Bowie, who also has his own dance show on Clyde every Saturday, will be making an appearance.

And DJ Blind Mikey – aka Mikey Hughes, runner up in Big Brother 9 – will also be gracing the decks.

All the way from Newcastle is Bass Generator, with support from Driller Killerz, Obsession, Lg Project, Vertical Drop, Lost Origin, John Devlin and Mc Loco and boney.

Alex, a childhood friend of Eilidh’s dad Gordon Brown, hopes it will raise as much money as possible for the fund set up in her name.

Eilidh died last year at the age of just 15 after battling a rare cancer.

Since then her family have committed themselves to raising money to build a respite home in the Stirling area for anyone going through treatment, who has been through treatment, or who has lost someone because of cancer.

Alex said: “All the money raised will be going straight to Eilidh’s parents Gordon and Nicole, who will be attending the event.

“We want to raise as much as possible to go towards the fund to build the respite home.

“We have managed to pull a great lineup of some of the UK’s top dance DJs and this is for a fantastic cause so it should be a great night.”

Entry is £5 on the door (or a donation “if anyone wants to give a little more for a very good cause”).
