CAMPAIGNERS have formed a pressure group to monitor the development of Park of Keir.
Developers have applied for renewal of their planning application to build a golf course and hotel on land between Dunblane and Bridge of Allan.
However, protesters who fought the development first time round say they still have a part to play.
Park of Keir Friends has evolved from Park of Keir Friends Ltd, which was set up to launch a community buy-out of the land after the public inquiry.
At an extraordinary general meeting in Dunblane’s Victoria Halls chair Sue Stirling-Aird said there was no longer a need for a limited company since a community buy-out is not a realistic expectation.
But she added there is still a role to play for the community in monitoring the development to ensure the developers fulfill all the conditions laid down by Scottish ministers when they gave permission for the development to go ahead.
A vote of thanks was given to John Gray, who was company secretary for Park of Keir Friends Ltd.
A spokesperson said: “Already concern has been expressed that some conditions may have been weakened and this is being investigated.
“In particular there was a requirement for the developers to submit certain details of the building appearance, site access, landscaping and a conservation plan within three years.
“That three-year period has now lapsed and we would urge supporters to write to Stirling Council and their MSP regarding the application for a renewal of planning permission.”
A website is being set up at www.parkofkeirfriends.co.uk to monitor development and keep the local community involved. For more information contact Sue Stirling-Aird on 01786 824048 or Ann Shaw on 01786 832287.
