Dunblane orchestra returns

DUNBLANE Chamber Orchestra is preparing for its second concert after drawing a full house for its first outing.

The orchestra’s clarinet soloist Carron Shankland will playing Mozart’s clarinet concerto. Carron teaches at Stirling University.

Also on the programme will be Schubert’s fifth symphony, Grieg’s “Holberg Suite” and Mozart’s wind serenade in C minor for eight instruments.

The orchestra aims to perform a Scottish piece at each concert and on Sunday it will play McKenzie’s “Benedictus”.

The concert is in the Victoria Hall, Dunblane, on Sunday at 7pm. Tickets, priced £8 (£2 children/students), are available at Smallprint, Dunblane, or at the door .
