Lorry driver in shunt lost job

A POLISH man working as a delivery driver for a Bridge of Allan dairy company admitted through an interpreter a careless driving charge which led to an accident on the A90 near Kinfauns on March 11.

Buguslaw Bryczek (39), of Bridge Street, Dollar, was driving a lorry on the dual carriageway at about 8.30am when traffic was heavy.

As he approached roadworks which had reduced the road to a single carriageway with a 50mph speed limit his careless driving resulted in him having to swerve to avoid striking cones, then striking the vehicle in front of him, which shunted that vehicle in to path of another.

No one was injured in the accident, but Perth Sheriff Court was told that Bryczek had been dismissed from the job he had held for more than two years.

Bryczek was fined £170 and his licence was endorsed with eight penalty points.
