BALFRON residents and visitors can enjoy all the fun of the fayre on Saturday, June 27, while raising vital funds for the Royal National Institute for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
Local author Paul Henke will be at the opening of this year’s Balfron community summer fayre, which is taking place between 10am and 4pm in the McLintock Hall on Main Street.
The admission price is £1.50, which along with proceeds from tombola tickets and fees paid by stallholders will go to RNID for its work supporting the 758,000 in Scotland who are deaf or hard of hearing.
As well as having the chance to enjoy homemade cooking and pick up bargains from the stalls, visitors can try their luck in the tombola, which has two rounds of gold at Guthrie Castle in Forfar and a meal for two at the Busby Hotel amongst the prizes.
Fayre-goers can hand donations to RNID Scotland volunteers who will also be encouraging people to value their hearing health and take the charity’s hearing check by visiting www.rnid.org.uk or hearingmatters or calling 0844 800 3838 when they get home.
RNID Scotland volunteer Christine Wallace said: “We’re delighted to be benefiting from the fundraising at this year’s Balfron community summer fayre and looking forward to encouraging people to look after their hearing so they can keep enjoying all the fun sounds of the fayre.”
