Council meets in Callander

STIRLING Council is heading to the Trossachs for its full monthly meeting tomorrow (Thursday).

In a move aimed at taking decision making into communities, the council meeting will take place at McLaren High School in Callander at 6.30pm.

Members of the public will also get a chance to put their points across at the meeting. In a change to the normal agenda an open question session will take place from 6-6.30pm when the council will answer questions put to them.

Commenting on the decision to take the meeting outside of Stirling, Provost Fergus Wood said: “We are reminding the electorate that this council also serves the interests of a widespread rural community covering more than 850 square miles.

“This is an excellent way to meet with local people and listen to their concerns as well as their ambitions for the area. I hope that this meeting will be the first of many that we conduct throughout the council area in future.”

Members of the public can submit questions in advance as well as asking them on the night. More information is available by calling 01786 442925.
