A STIRLING soldier and musician could be permanently remembered by the naming of a new street in St Ninians.
Erskine Street is the suggested name for a development at the former St Modan’s High School.
The name was suggested by Borestone Community Council and relates to William Erskine, who died this year aged 94.
Mr Erskine served in the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, was awarded the Burma Star and was a member of the Burma Star Association.
After the war he returned to St Ninians and worked in the building trade, as had his grandfather, a nail maker.
Mr Erskine was a founder member of the Milton Fiddlers, through which he raised money for local organisations.
