Students react to BNP leaflets

LEAFLETTING of Stirling University’s campus by the BNP met a swift response by students.

As part of a campaign to ensure students register to vote for the European elections on June 4 political activists also spoke out against racism and fascism.

Stirling MP Anne McGuire said: “This isn't about campaigning for a specific political party. It’s about making sure that fascist and racist political organisations are given a clear message from Stirling University students that their beliefs are not welcome on campus.

“The main focus of the campaign was to encourage students to register to vote for the upcoming European Parliament election.

“Full credit must be given to the organisers of the campaign, who got it up and running in a matter of hours after BNP material was distributed on campus.”
