Castle ball aids forces

THE British Forces Foundation received more than £15,000 following the RBS Private Banking Valentines Ball at Stirling Castle.

This was the third year the ball has been organised and supported by the bank, with more than £30,000 raised so far.

The event, which was hosted by broadcaster Kaye Adams and attended by Falklands veteran Simon Weston and the Lord Robertson,, raised £15,096.

Senior private banking manager Roy Smith said: “We are absolutely delighted to have raised such a incredible amount and we would like to say a very big thank you to all those who attended for their support and generosity. We recognise that these are more difficult economic times, which makes the amount raised even more impressive.”

The British Forces Foundation supports serving personnel through quality entertainment.
