CHRISTINA Chalk made it a dream double on Saturday when she was chosen as this year’s Stirling Observer Supermodel.
The 15-year-old Dunblane High School pupil was a finalist last year and this time round went one better to follow in the footsteps of last year’s winner Holly Fairfull from Killearn.
And the win came only six days after she was named Scotland’s New Face 2009 at the Scottish Fashion Awards.
“This has been a crazy week,” said a delighted Christina, whose name was announced by another Dunblane beauty, Miss Scotland Katharine Brown.
“Tonight was just as nerve-wracking as last week. Nobody knows exactly what the judges are looking for – I’m just happy to have won.”
The teenager, who will be 16 later this month, pipped 17 others on the night – but there could be a surprise in store for three or four finalists, who were there at The Stirling Arcade – fellow sponsors of the event with the Stirling Observer and Kingdom Photos of Kippen.
Marie Kerr of Kingdom Photos of Kippen revealed that The Look, one of Scotland’s top modelling agencies, had been impressed by other finalists and that they would be in touch with them in coming weeks.
“It's interesting that one of last year's finalists has come back and won the following year,” said Marie. “Who knows, perhaps next year our winner will be someone who has entered once or twice before, and tried again.”
Christina’s prize includes a modelling portfolio by Kingdom Photos which will be presented to The Look, fashion vouchers worth £250 from Betti Loves it, hair cut and style courtesy of Narcissus and colour and style assessment courtesy of Beauty at Ebu.
She will also have the lead catwalk role at the Stirling Wedding Show at the Albert Halls on Sunday, September 13, an event which will be televised on the internet by SpotlightTV, based at Stirling University Innovation Park.
The 18 finalists who took to the catwalk were Chelsea Rankine, Chelsea Scott, Danielle van Rijn, Krishna Antanaityte, Laura McElrath, Lisa Letford, Olivia Seaton-Hill, Sarah Holden, Siobhan Riddell, Tracy Laird, Christina Chalk, Jed McKinnon, Laura Farrant, Laura Syme, Lawren Stevenson, Louise Stanners, Michaela Tetlow and Nicole Elphinstone.
Cheryl McLachlan and Rebecca Macrae, who were in the original 20 finalists, were unavailable on the night.
