Mobo celebs tuck into Stirling grub

CELEBRITIES at this year’s MOBO awards tucked into everything from tablet to tipples courtesy of Stirling companies.

Jermaine Jackson and “X-Factor” runners-up JLS were among those who homed in on white chocolate tablet made by Stirling baker Sara MacMillan of Sprinkle Happiness.

And “Britain’s Got Talent” winners Diversity and contestant Shaheen Jafargholi were big fans of chocolate brownies baked by Zak’s at The Peak.

Throsk company VC2, owned by Graham Coull and Carlo Valente, provided bottles of Stiffy’s Kola Kubez vodka drink, Paris Rose Strawberry and Cream Liqueur and Boe Gin.

Acts including N-Dubz and Flawless had cases of Stiffy’s delivered to their dressing room.

The 14th MOBO (Music of Black Origin) awards took place in Glasgow’s SECC, with performances from JLS, Tinchy Stryder, N-Dubz, Chipmunk and Keri Hilson, as well as a tribute to Michael Jackson led by sister LaToya and brother Jermaine.

Sara MacMillan used to work in trusts and funds at Prudential but started baking to provide her son with tasty treats as he had a food intolerance.

Her business has grown from baking his birthday cakes to selling a huge range of cupcakes, novelty party cakes and operating an online tablet shop.

Sara said: “My tablet is made from my gran’s recipe and my mum always made tablet, including the white chocolate one which was at the MOBOs. It has really taken off.

“It was sheer chance really that led me to be asked to make it for the awards. Contacts I made through a charity event at the Adamo Hotel led me to be asked to provide some cupcakes for Lumia spa in Bridge of Allan. When I went there one of their clients asked if I would make some things for the awards.

“I never could have imagined how things have taken off – I still make all my tablet with one pot and a wooden spoon.

“Orders have multiplied already, even in the few days since the MOBOs – but I’ll cope. It’s amazing to think that people like Jermaine Jackson and JLS are big fans of my tablet.”
