A BABY loss memory walk which took place recently in Bridge of Allan has raised £343 for charity.
The event, which began from the Adamo Hotel in Henderson Street, saw participants walk around three miles before enjoying a ladies’ buffet lunch and activities day in the hotel.
Baby Loss Awareness Week brings together five UK organisations involved in pregnancy and neonatal loss.
The organisations involved are: Antenatal Results and Choices, Babyloss.com, the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust, The Miscarriage Association and Stillbirth and Neonatal Death charity.
One of the organisers of the event, Caroline Wright, said: “I would like to thank everyone who made the event so successful including Marion at Babyloss Awareness for her continued support, the Adamo Hotel for their hospitality and contribution towards the event, friends and family for their help and participation and those who have donated time and prizes so kindly and generously.”
Baby Loss Awareness spokesperson Marion Currie said: “So many parents suffer in isolated silence, struggling to come to terms with their anguish and grief and feeling they have nowhere to turn.
“These families need to know they are not alone and that pregnancy loss is not a taboo subject.
“Support groups founded and run by parents are available across the UK to help families through the tragedy of losing their baby. We need to make communities aware that help is available and to increase its accessibility.”
