A WOMAN who plans to move to London for a job in television was banned from driving and fined on Wednesday for being three times over the drink drive limit in a convenience store carpark.
Susan Shaw (46) was breathalysed by police at the wheel of her Audi A6 estate car in the car park of the Co-Op in Killearn on August 30, Stirling Sheriff Court was told.
Shaw, 46, of Buchanan Street, Balfron, pleaded guilty to driving with an alcohol count of 104 microgrammes per 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.
She was banned from driving for 20 months, and told to pay a fine of £500 for the incident.
The court heard Shaw had arranged for a friend to pay any fine, but that she would pay it back once she got her job in TV.
Alistair Ross, defending, said: “My client has had difficult personal circumstances recently, and regrets what she has done.
“If forced to pay a fine, she has a friend who is willing to pay it on her behalf, and she will pay it back once she is in a job.
“There is the possibility of her getting a job in the TV business in the near future, and she has a meeting lined up for the job on November 26.
“She plans to move to London if that comes off.”
Sheriff Andrew Cubie said: “I take a dim view of people driving whilst under the influence.”
