Rural ladies are game for a laugh

THEY might not be heading to London later this summer for the Olympic Games, but the same will to win was displayed when teams representing 24 WRIs in the Stirling, Clackmannan and West Perth Federation had a day of fun and laughter at its annual Ruralympics last Saturday.

Bridge of Allan Parish Church Hall was the venue when the ladies from Dollar WRI came out on top after a day of darts, putting, beanbag throwing, hockey dribbling and hardest of all, hula hooping!

The Hillfoots team pipped Blairlogie and District to the gold medal with Gargunnock also winning a spot on the podium in bronze medal position.

Dollar WRI will now go forward to represent SC&WP Federation in the National Ruralympics at Bells Sport Centre, Perth in September.
