A West Stirlingshire butcher has won two top awards in the World Scotch Pie Championship.
The Scotch Pie Club presented T & R Skinner of Kippen with diamond and gold awards at the recent event.
Cameron Skinner from T & R Skinner said: “We are delighted with our win. To have been judged as one of the best in land against so many of our peers is a huge achievement.”
Head judge Robert Ross added: “The competition, which has run for 14 years, aims to highlight that bakers and butchers create high-quality artisan pastry products.
“ Recognising the great and the good in this way rewards excellence and raises the bar in the industry.”
The competition is supported by Scottish Bakers and the Scottish Federation of Meat Traders.
Both trade associations actively support and promote bakers and butchers in Scotland by encouraging and sharing best practice.
Alan Clarke and Douglas Scott, respective chief executives of both associations ,were impressed with the overall standard of the products and gave thanks to Bako Northern and Scotland, who sponsored the competition.
