Government's £31m budget underspend

The Scottish Government underspent its budget by £31 million last year, the lowest figure on record.

Finance Secretary John Swinney said the administration spent £29.944 billion against a spending limit of £27.975 billion.

This compared to £42 million the previous year and was the lowest figure since the start of devolution, he told MSPs.
