Government to help job-loss firm

A firm that could axe up to 100 jobs after the collapse of sports broadcaster Setanta will receive direct Government assistance, the First Minister has said.

Alex Salmond described it as a "serious situation" at Kirkcaldy-based MGt - which provided call centre, billing and software services for the broadcaster which has gone into administration.

MGt is now consulting with staff over possible redundancies.
