Queen visits Culloden battle site

The Queen has visited the site of the last major land battle fought on British soil.

Her tour of the Culloden Battlefield visitors' centre, near Inverness, was the first visit to the spot by a serving British monarch since the battle took place more than 263 years ago.

The royal trip to the National Trust for Scotland's (NTS) flagship attraction comes more than a year after the official opening of the new £9.5 million centre.
