Dolly creator to receive knighthood

The creator of Dolly the sheep will be formally knighted by the Queen.

Professor Ian Wilmut receives the honour for his services to science. He is among a host of people receiving awards during the investiture at the Palace of Holyrood House in Edinburgh.

Sir Ian became Scotland's best-known living scientist. His first ambition in life was to go to sea - either in the Royal Navy or the merchant service. But a touch of colour-blindness spelt the end of those hopes.
