NHS staff sickness absence figures

Health bosses are struggling to hit targets for reducing the rate of sickness absence in the NHS, figures show.

The NHS was set the target of reducing its sickness absence rate to 4% from March this year.

Figures showed that for 12 months up to the end of March it was at 4.95%, down 0.33% on the previous year.
