Spread of hospital bug revealed
A breakdown of recorded cases of a hospital bug shows the extent of infection across Scotland.
Figures show there were 4,789 people infected with Clostridium difficile in the year since a deadly outbreak at the Vale of Leven hospital in May 2007.
Aberdeen Royal Infirmary topped the list with 438 victims, while Stirling Royal Infirmary recorded 206 and Edinburgh Royal Infirmary had 323.
