2012 host flag handed to Glasgow

The Olympic host city flag has been officially handed over at Hampden Park in Glasgow, two weeks before tickets for the 2012 Games go on sale.

Scotland's national stadium, one of six across the UK that will host matches as part of the Olympic football tournament, will stage eight games.

Lord Coe, chairman of the organising committee, handed the flag over to Glasgow City Council leader Gordon Matheson and explained the importance of holding Olympic events in cities across the UK.
