Call to scrap UK fuel duty rise

Transport minister Keith Brown has urged MSPs to get behind calls for the UK Government to scrap its planned rise in fuel duty.

Speaking during a debate in Holyrood, he also called on Westminster to implement a fuel duty regulator.

Mr Brown said increases in petrol and diesel costs as a result of hikes in global oil prices were imposing further "hardship" on Scottish households and businesses at a time of tight budgets.
