Stirling Swimming Club’s Annual Awards evening was held on Saturday at Stirling County Rugby Club.
The club championships, held in December, was a keenly fought event with close to 100 swimmers competing within age groups over four races each.
The following swimmers emerged as the overall club champions for their respective age group:
Kailey Davidson - 10 and under girls; Harry Gray - 10 and under boys; Amy Malone - 11 year old girls; Coll Anderson - 11 year old boys; Georgia Garry - 12 year old girls; Sam Leckie - 12 year old boys; Ella Shilliday – 13/14 year old girls; Jack Kerr – 13/14 year old boys; Cara Smith - 15 and over girls; Scott Macarthur - 15 and over boys.
The Thomas Nelson Award, presented for the fastest 100m freestyle swim at the club championships, was awarded to Scott Macarthur from Gargunnock for his speedy 56.09 secs.
David Dalziel, the club’s water polo team coach, presented special recognition awards to Jamie Murray, Cameron Harris, Skye Campbell and Sara Morrison who were all selected to play for Scotland at recent water polo international events.
Club president David Rogerson presented awards to parent volunteers Brian Russell and Michelle Murray in recognition of their immense contributions to the running of the club over the past year.
