STIRLING County captain Phil Rees won the prestigious Willie Little Trophy at the cricket club awards.
The trophy, presented by the Stirling Observer in memory of the newspaper’s former editor and Stirling County captain, goes to the club member of the year.
The club had a successful season with County finishing fourth in SNCL Division One; the 2nd XI ending in the same spot in East League Division Two and the all-conquering 3rds XI going through East League Division Six undefeated.
On a busy night at New Williamfield, award winners were as follows:
County – Batting: Ian McGhee; Bowling: Josh Edwards; Fielding: Graeme Taylor.
2nd XI – Batting: Paul Bielby; Bowling – David Kuhlwilm; Fielding – Sean Ferrie.
3rd XI – Batting: Andy Carswell; Bowling: Sandy Watt; Fielding – Harry Cordner.
Highest Individual Score: Andy Lees (203 not out v Penicuik 3rd XI); Best Individual Bowling Performance: Pirin Reitze (7 for 23 v Poloc); Outstanding Performance: Pirin Reitze; Best Catch: Harry Cordner (v Grange 2nd XI); Best Newcomer: Jonathan Bowes.
