Youngsters kick off Olympic year

ONE of the largest organised pre-school sport programmes ever seen in the Stirling area is set to get underway next month.

The Active Stirling team has prepared a programme of age group activities in Stirling, Bridge of Allan, Dunblane, Killearn, Cambusbarron, Balfron and Callander for children up to five.

The Jumpin Beans, Bouncin Beans and Sporty Beans sessions involve jumping, balancing, running and climbing. Other sessions available include Dance-Wriggle and Mini Kickers football classes for children aged 3-5.

Each session focuses on a particular age group, ranging from six-18 months, 18 months-three years, three-five years and four-five years old.

Venues include The Peak in Stirling, Victoria Hall in Dunblane, Killearn Church Hall, Balfron High School, the Allan Centre in Bridge of Allan and Cambusbarron Community Centre.

Claire Peebles from Active Stirling said: “We believe our pre-school programmes are a great introduction to sport and physical activity and are a fantastic way to encourage physical development through fun and engaging activities.

“In line with our vision to be a national leader in sport and physical activity and deliver high-quality opportunities to the Stirling communities, we have expanded our pre school programme to include more activities and venues for children under five years.”

The programmes begin on Monday, January 9. For more information visit www.activestirling.org.uk or call 03000 280101.
