Sports awards nominees

SPORTSMEN and women throughout the Stirling area will take centre stage next week at the 32nd annual ClubSport Stirling Sports Awards at the Albert Hall.

Judy Murray, mum of Jamie and Andy and a tennis champion and top class coach in her own right, will be the guest speaker on Wednesday, November 19.

This year’s nominees range from boxing to triathloan, swimming to golf.

The list of nominees is:

Local Service to Sport: Ian Asher (boxing); James Fulton (judo); William and Morag McCulloch (football); Sandy McMeechan (football); Jim Mitchell (curling); Christine Paterson (multi-sports); Blair Prentice (swimming); Liz Stevens (golf); Keith Wilkinson (triahtlon).

Young Sports Person: Kay Adams (curling); Vicki Adams (curling); Jack Barrett (orienteering); Chris Chalk (gymnastics); Martin Cremin (swimming); Barry Douglas (karate); Abigail Longhurst (orienteering).

Senior Sports Person: Andrew Hunter (swimming); Todd Cooper (swimming); Stuart McKay (judo); Andrew Turnbull (triathlon); Kelly Wood (curling).
