Lacrosse: Pupils lose out to Fifers

KILLEARN and Drymen Primary School pupils were pipped at the post at the recent Scottish Pop Lacrosse Championships held at Meadowbank Stadium in Edinburgh.

In the under 11 section, Killearn reached the final against Donibristle B from Fife.

At full-time the teams were locked at 8-8 and under tournament rules it went to sudden death but it was the Fifers who netted first.

Killearn, however, will go forward to the Under 11 British finals along with Donibristle B.

The open tournament saw current champs Killearn lose out, but Drymen reached the final to meet Pittencrieff A (Fife).

Again the local team lost out but they have been invited to play an exhibition match at the Edinburgh Festival on August 16 at Fettes College.
