STIRLING and Dunblane Karate Club were celebrating last week after a move to a new training location at the brand new Peak Sports Village in Springkerse. Club members were thrilled with the new facilities on offer, and are glad to be part of Stirling’s brand new state of the art facility.
Regional instructor Mike Bissett, 5th Dan told the Observer: “For many years, clubs like ourselves have had to survive in often cold, out of the way locations which made it much more difficult for clubs like ours to get the visibility they needed to survive.
“Now, with so much on offer under one roof, there is a much better chance that small clubs run by volunteers can be part of something much bigger. When there are lots of other people in the one location, all with an interest in sports activity, it makes it much easier to create an environment that fosters success.”
Stirling and Dunblane Karate Club have been established for over 30 years, and have seen over 100 students achieve their black belt during this time. More recently, student Matthew Rayne (12) brought back a silver medal to the club from the National championships.
If you would like to try Karate, Stirling and Dunblane Karate Club are holding free come and try nights throughout June and July. Simply come along, or call Len Rayne on 07717 248 143 for further information.
