Darts: New season begins

STIRLING and District Mens Darts League played their opening fixtures on Monday with 13 teams in division one and 14 in division two.

Three new teams had registered to play this year: the Hollytree A, Settle Inn and Coyles Lounge. Red Hoose, CDC and Foresters were all promoted to division one and Gothenburg B were relegated to division two.

Division One: Goth A 5, Red Hoose 7; Highland 6, Rob Roy 6; Foresters 5, Vinny’s Bar 7; Hollytree B 8, Tartan Arms 4; Village Inn 8, CDC 4; FMW 0, Cross Keys 12.

Darts players were sorry to hear of the death of Fallin Welfare player Alan Love, who died suddenly on Tuesday, August 30. Alan’s funeral service will be held in Fallin Church tomorrow (Thursday) at 1pm and thereafter at the crematorium.
