STIRLING Canoe Club junior members were presented with their British Canoe Union Paddle Start certificate by Councillor Graham Houston at the swimming pool in Bannockburn High School last week.
For the past eight weeks 10 youngsters have been enjoying coaching sessions led by club coaches Sid Nodes and James Wardlaw and after completing their assessment they each received their certificates.
Club vice chairman and course organiser Sid Nodes said: “Stirling Canoe Club has incorporated the new BCU Paddle Power coaching scheme into the children's coaching development within the club.
“The programme introduces children to a full range of kayaking techniques in a relaxed format. They had lots of fun learning the skills to achieve this award and are keen to move to the next level.”
