ANDY Murray made it through to the quarter-finals of the Barcelona Open yesterday with a routine straight sets win over Santiago Giraldo.
Second seed Murray wasted no time as he blitzed the Colombian 6-1 6-2, despite Giraldo levelling an early break of serve by the British number one in the second set.
The win fired Murray into the last eight where he will now face Canadian Milos Raonic.
Andy is also taking part in the doubles alongside brother Jamie in Barcelona and the pair got off to a good start earlier this week with a straight sets win over Kevin Anderson and Frank Moser.
The Dunblane brothers were scheduled to face number seven seeds Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi and Jean-Julien Rojer for a place in the quarter-finals as the Observer went to press last night.
