Murray eases into round two at Wimbledon

ANDY Murray produced a powerhouse performance to overwhelm Nikolay Davydenko in the first round at Wimbledon on Tuesday.

The former World No 3 had no answer to the current No 4 as the Dunblane ace took charge from the start. Murray reeled off the opening two sets 6-1 6-1 as a disconsolate Davydenko was left wondering what to do.

He made more of a fight in the third set but couldn't break Murray and the local lad eased through 6-4. He now awaits the winner of the match between Croatia's big-serving Ivo Karlovic and Dudi Sela of Israel.

Brother Jamie is also in round two in the men's doubles. He and partner Eric Butorac, whom he paired up with to great success in 2007, are seeded 14 and defeated Andre Begemann and Igor Zeleney in round one.
