IT was a home-spun success for three Stirling indoor bowlers last Saturday in the club’s inaugural open triples tournament.
Dougie Kerr, Kris Storf and Brian McLaughlin captured the winners’ prizes when they saw off the Cumbernauld challenge from C Simpson, T Simpson and G Wilson in the final.
Losing out in the semi-finals were Stirling IBC’s Craig Robertson, David Stewart and Fraser Gray along with Ian Watt, Sam McFarlane and Hugh Petrie.
The event wes generously sponsored by Somers & Currid, Funeral Directors.
SENIORS: In a friendly match played on Wednesday of last week, Stirling Seniors defeated Falkirk by 11 shots. Scores (Stirling skips first): D Craig 16, T Muirhead 10; W Goodwin 10, J Nisbet 13; W Glen 15, A Watson 10; C Peace 11, A Forsyth 8. Stirling 52, Falkirk 41.
FINEST FOURS: IN last Sunday’s semi-final of Falkirk’s Finest Fours, Stirling IBC lost by five points to three to Headwell IBC.
EX-PRESIDENTS: Stirling &District Ex-Presidents played their Glasgow counterparts last Sunday and won by 80 shots. Scores (Stirling skips first): D Craig 26, J Greenwood 12; R Whitfield 28, A Muir 13; M Graham 39, W Waters 16; S McFarlane 20, D Fisher 23; P Doyle 19, W Clark 12; W Glen 31, H Gibbon 7. Totals: Stirling 163, Glasgow 83.
