THERE was Scottish championship action at Bannockburn green on Monday evening when 15 bowers emerged victorious from the District Nine finals to book their places in next month's national finals at Ayr.
Causewayhead's Gary Mortimer will now carry Stirling's singles hopes after a 21-13 win over Stirling's Jimmy Gilmour and in the junior singles, last year's winner Gary Malcolmson defeated Gavin Kerr (Borestone) 21-13.
Also retaining their District Nine pairs title were Spittalmyre's Sam McFarlane and Fraser Gray who saw off David McEwan and Peter Black (Polmaise) 20-16.
Borestone triple Tom Keith, Ian Forsyth and Kevan Frogley triumphed 12-11 over Dunblane's Keith Brown, Adam McQue and David Cuthell.
Winners of the fours were James Brown, Billy McLeod, Kevin Paterson and Danny McCormick from the Polmaise Club who won 19-14 over Riverside's David Campbell, John Wingate, Bert Samuel and Iain Henderson.
Callander's Harry Crews, Bill Farrimond, Peter McCartney and John Bowes were senior fours winners. They defeated Borestone's Andrew Allan, Pasquale Tortolano, Neil Boyle and James Stevenson 14-6.
The Scottish Bowling Association District Nine finals were sponsored by Co-operative Funeralcare.
