Stirling indoor bowlers defeat Bainfield

STIRLING indoor bowlers returned to Scottish League action last Saturday with a narrow one-shot home victory over Bainfield.

In a closely contested match, the scores were locked at 55-55 with 15 ends completed with Stirling going 68-64 in front at the 18 end mark.

David McEwan jun., Dougie Kerr, Kris Storf and Jason Williams won 22-15 over Robert Marshall, while Ian Gillies, Brian McLaughlin, Gary Malcomson and Sandy Deans won 27-18 against Paul O’Donnell.

Charlie Gibson, Billy Guy, David Stewart and Stuart Dalrymple lost 11-17 to Stevie McLeod and David McEwan sen., James Brown, David Mathieson and Jim Flannagan lost 18-27 to Gavin Smith.

LADIES

STIRLING indoor ladies continued their good form in the Scottish League last Saturday with an 83-58 away victory over Allander. Scores (Allander skips first): J Grant 17, J Watson 22; C Collins 18, N Palmer 14; E Farmon 8, M Monteith 31; S Barclay 15, M Falconer 16.

EX-PRESIDENTS

STIRLING & District Ex-Presidents played Bridge of Allan BC last Sunday and won by 46 shots. Scores (Ex-Presidents skips first): W Glen 30, I Wright 12; J Stout 32, D Buchan 8; W Hardie 14, W Guy 17; S McFarlane 20, W Lyons 17; P Doyle 21, A Greasley 17; D Craig 21, H Petrie 21. INDOOR SENIORS

STIRLING IBC senior gents played their latest Scottish League match on Wednesday of last week against local rival Alloa. Once again they were on the wrong end of a close encounter.
