THE Balbardie stadium proved an unhappy hunting ground for Stirling’s indoor bowlers last Saturday as they slumped to a 46-shot Scottish League defeat.
Stirling trailed from start to finish and ended the match with no winning rinks. Best were Danny McCormick, Ian Gillies, Gary Malcolmson and Sandy Deans who peeled 15-15 with G Bryne.
David McEwan, James Brown, Pat Martin and Jim Flannagan lost 15-20 to W McDougall, while Aaron Hazel, Brian McLaughlin, Kris Storf and Bryan Stillie finished 13-24 adrift of E Shearer.
Elsewhere, Charlie Gibson, Billy Guy, Jason Williams and Stuart Dalrymple lost 10-33 to S McDougall. Totals: Stirling 53, Balbardie 99.
SENIOR GENTS
STIRLING Seniors headed for Fife last Wedenesday when they took on the Abbeyview Club in their latest Scottish League match.
Unfortunately Stirling failed to master both their opponents and a tricky carpet and lost by 27 shots.

STIRLING LADIES
IN their Scottish League home match against Balbardie last Saturday, Stirling ladies’ recent good form deserted them on this occasion as they lost by 64 shots. Stirling 47, Balbardie 111.
EX-PRESIDENTS
STIRLING & District Ex-Presidents played the first leg of their annual indoor match with Fife Ex-Presidents last Sunday – and lost by 27 shots.
