Ex-presidents win Doune Castle match

FUNDRAISING efforts by Stirling & District Ex-Presidents Association resulted in a £400 cheque being presented to Strathcarron Hospice. Past president Willie Connell handed over the cheque to Doreen Mullen from the hospice.

The Ex-Presidents played their annual indoor match with Doune Castle BC last Sunday – and won by 64 shots. Scores (Ex-Presidents’ skips first): R Whitfield 36, D Lauder 9; B Morrison 18, R Duncan 15; H Petrie 21, D Crombie 12; S McFarlane 25, D Mathieson 14; I Gillies 24, W Nicol 16; D Craig 26, D Armstrong 18. Totals: Ex-Presidents 150, Doune Castle 84.

SENIORS

STIRLING’S senior gents were at home to East Fife on Wednesday of last week in their latest Scottish League match. The hosts lost by 20 shots.

Scores (Stirling skips first): W Hardie 13, G Gillies 20; B Morrison 9, D Watson 12; J Carroll 12, W Wyles 14; H Petrie 20, R White 28. Totals: Stirling 54, East Fife 74.

STIRLING senior gents and ladies played a mixed triples friendly match at Headwell IBC recently and peeled 37-37.

IN the final of the senior gents pairs championship played last Saturday Hugh Milne and John Carroll won 14-11 against W Wilson and D Drummond
