Bowls: Causewayhead ladies win at Stirling

WINNERS of the George Barclay Rosebowl competition, held last Thursday by Stirling BC ladies’ section, were Sheila Harrison and Angie Doyle (Causewayhead).

Runners-up were Margaret McGown and Agnes Guthrie (Riverside). Eighteen pairs participated and the event was sponsored by JTC Dundee.

On Saturday the gents played a friendly match at Laurieston and lost by 44 shots. Scores (Laurieston skips first): M Main 22, T van Heusden 15; A McFarlane 15, J Miller 10; P Taylor 16, M Cruz 8; T Canavan 29. R Letford 5. Totals: Laurieston 82, Stirling 38.

WINNERS of the Central Association’s Strathcarron Triples competition, held last Sunday at Doune Castle BC, were homesters Duncan Kinloch, Ian Laing and Ia Morrison.

GENTS competition winners at Bridge of Allan BC were: Championship – R Guy, ru – B Cockburn; Presidents – S Harfield, ru – D Greasley; Handicap – W McGill, ru – J Robertson; Blevins – I Wright, ru – D Buchan; Senior singles – I Anderson, ru – H Petrie; Junior singles – D Greasley, ru – S McGregor.
