Bowls: Riverside ladies win at Cambusbarron

RIVERSIDE’S Margaret Young, Margaret McGown, Christine Lloyd and Rena Cairns won the recent ladies invitation rink competition at Cambusbarron green.

Runners up were Ruby McInnes, Moira Sneddon, Elaine Blevins and Janet Bennett (Sauchie).

Losing out in the semi-finals were Margaret Rennie, May Leach, Irene Stolarek and Sylvia McMillan (Sauchie) along with Cambusbarron’s Audrey Ferguson, Sandra Gilmour, Cathie Paton and Hilda Pirie.

WINNERS of last Sunday’s Joyce Gairns Memorial Trophy, sponsored by

David McCormack, Cowie, were M Gairns, R Gairns and J Gairns Jnr.

Runners-up were A Stark, H Stark and N Gilmour. In third position were A White, R Graham and S Kerr, while fourth were H Pirie, G Pirie and D Drummond.

SCORES from last Saturday’s match against Tillicoultry were (Bridge of Allan skips first): A Greasley 6, M Greasley 30; H Petrie 23, A Bennett 11; W Steele 11, T Thornton 14; I Anderson 21, A McPherson 11; J McKenzie 23, A Taylor 14; G Forrest 14, W Fisher 15. Totals: Bridge of Allan 98, Tillicoultry 95.
