Bowls: Ladies go second in national league

STIRLING indoor ladies continued their good Scottish League form last Saturday with an 87-72 home victory over Cumbernauld.

The win, their third in a row, takes them to second top spot in their Division One Section D league at the halfway stage of the campaign.

Scottish Juniors

IN last weekend’s Scottish Junior singles playdowns at Cumbernauld, Stirling’s David McEwan won his opening match 21-4 against Alloa before losing 13-10 to Auchinleck.

Meanwhile Fintry’s Garry Brown won 21-9 against Irvine and 21-12 against Galleon before making his exit from the competition by losing 10-21 to Prestwick.

Taking their places in next month’s national finals at Ardrossan are Stonehaven, Prestwick, Falkirk and Abbeyview.
