STIRLING indoor bowlers made it safely through to the first round of the Scottish Cup last Saturday.
In their rearranged preliminary match against Bon Accord at Perth, Stirling were worthy 43-shot winners.
James Brown, David McEwan jnr, Derek Logie and Gary Malcolmson were in top form in defeating J Eddie by 43 shots to eight. Likewise were Tom Barr, Brian McLaughlin, Neil Robertson and Bryan Stillie, who finished 32-7 winners over D Leslie.
Losing 19-25 to M Boyle were Dougie Kerr, Ian Gillies, Billy Guy and David Stewart, while Scott Craig, Jamie Grant, Jason Williams and Danny McCormick went down 8-19 to T Malley. Totals: Stirling 102, Bon Accord 59.
Stirling now face Inverness in the first round on Saturday in a match scheduled for the Forfar stadium.
At last Saturday’s Premier division championship final at Paisley Falkirk lost to West Lothian (65-88). Sunday’s relegation play-off at Stirling resulted in victory for Alloa (101-71) over Turriff.
