Milton through

MILTON 4......MILTON VIOLET (FIFE) 0

ANOTHER tremendous performance from Milton in this Scottish cup round three against their namesakes from Fife.

The home side started really well and after two minutes Shaddick brought out a great save from the Violet keeper with a header from a Whiteford cross. Eight minutes later Gizzy should have opened the scoring, again the keeper saved well.

It was one-way traffic and Burns did well in the 25th minute to set up Shaddick, but the big striker shot past the post. Shaddick finally got his reward for all his hard work as he shot past the keeper in the 35th minute.

Just before half-time Gizzy was unlucky when his curling shot just clipped the outside of the post.

In the 50th minute Violet still lived a charmed life as Gizzy’s netbound shot was somehow cleared off the line by a defender.

The second goal had to come and it was Gizzy who shot home after good work. Milton continued to press and it was no surprise to see them go three up from McKinlay, after fine play from the hard working McInnes.

Giannandrea scored a wonderful fourth goal in the 83rd minute when he outjumped the visiting defence to head home a Gizzy cross.

A great all round performance from Milton.

This Saturday Milton are away to Gartcosh in the second round of the West of Scotland Cup. Transport leaves the clubhouse at noon.
