GAVIN Lindsay dispatched the ball past the Claremont keeper to give Blanefield the lead after just two minutes.

Four minutes later Blanefield were two ahead, with Frazer McLaren adding to his early season total.

Gavin Lindsay was involved in a tussle with a Claremont winger that saw both players sent off just before the interval.

Just after the break Blanefield extended their lead to 3-0 after Frazer McLaren picked his way through the Claremont defence and drilled past the Claremont keeper from the tightest of angles.

Norval hit the bar for the second week in a row and Blanefield were making steady progress.

The Claremont keeper kept the score respectable with a man-of-the-match performance but he was undone by a delicate chip from Freel, which despite his best efforts he could only help into the net.

Both sets of players produced an exciting game under very difficult conditions.

Blanefield are safely through to the next round of the Regional Cup and sit at the top of the league.
