Kincardine 0 Forth Thistle 2
FORTH were reduced to 10 men after 20 minutes of this Division Three League Cup final when Martin McGregor was red-carded for denying a goal scoring opportunity
They took the lead on the hour when Alexander Skinner put a free kick into the box and found Michael McGookin, who lobbed the keeper.
It was back-to-the-wall defending as Kincardine pushed for the equaliser. Forth sealed the win in injury time when Alexander Skinner unleashed a 25-yard rocket into the net.
Kincardine almost pulled one back when a shot bounced off keeper Gordon Campbell’s chest but he made a brave save at the striker’s feet.
The club would like to thank the Abbey Inn for its after-match hospitality.
BRAEHEAD played well for 60 minutes but went to sleep in the last half-hour.
They took the lead after a fine strike from the edge of the box by Gardiner and played some great football to control the game.
In the second half poor defending allowed Stirling to score from their only two attacks on goal. After this Braehead looked down and out and lacked drive to go for an equaliser.
IN THIS Taylor Trophy final there was little of note in the first half.
Camelon gained the lead early in the second half when Johnston scored with a low drive. Midway through the half Martin Kelly fired a drive into the top corner from all of 30 yards.
The icing on the cake for Camelon was added near the end when McQuade and George completed the scoring.
Garry Wilson of Camelon and Barry Lynn of Dunipace were both sent off after a second-half confrontation.
